Clocking In打卡

Clocking In documents workers arriving at their workplaces each day. From a relatively fixed position, I photographed their backs as they entered offices, factories, and other work sites. Similar times, routes, and gestures recur from day to day, forming a stable rhythm of labour.

Most of the figures appear without visible faces. What remains are clothing, posture, personal belongings, and bodily outlines. Individual differences are still present, yet they are temporarily compressed by shared working hours and systems of attendance. Clocking in reduces the complexity of working life to a simple record: whether a person has appeared at the required place at the required time.

I placed or stitched together figures photographed at different moments, turning dispersed workers into a continuously advancing procession. Their repeated bodies reveal the collective rhythm of urban labour and the ways in which personal time is divided and regulated by work. The act of clocking in may appear minor, but it marks the beginning of the working day and returns life to the same recurring cycle.

The work examines how people are identified and recorded within everyday systems of labour. Once the face disappears, the body, the time, and the act of arrival become the evidence of presence. Through these repeated views from behind, Clocking In reflects on how labour structures daily life and inscribes an ongoing, often invisible rhythm upon the body.

《打卡》记录了一群每天前往工作场所的上班者。我从相对固定的位置拍摄他们进入公司、工厂或办公区域时的背影：相似的时间，相似的路径，相似的动作，在日复一日的重复中构成一套稳定的工作秩序。

画面中的人物大多没有清晰的面孔，只留下衣着、步态、随身物品和身体轮廓。个体之间的差异仍然存在，却在统一的上班时间与考勤制度中被暂时压缩。打卡将复杂的劳动生活转化为一个明确的记录：一个人是否在规定时间出现在规定地点。

我将这些不同时刻拍摄的背影并置或拼接，使原本分散的上班者形成一支持续前进的队伍。重复的身体既呈现城市劳动的集体节奏，也显露个人时间如何被工作制度切分和管理。每天的打卡看似只是一个微小动作，却标记着一天劳动的开始，也将生活重新带入相同的循环。

作品关注人在高度日常化的工作秩序中如何被识别和记录。当面孔消失后，身体、时间与行动成为判断一个人是否“到场”的依据。《打卡》试图通过这些重复出现的背影，呈现劳动制度如何进入日常，并在人的身体上形成持续而隐性的节奏。
