Everyone’s Lujiazui and the Same Lujiazui每个人的陆家嘴和同一个陆家嘴

Everyone’s Lujiazui and the Same Lujiazui developed from the series Everyone Is a Photographer. For this work, I collected photographs of Shanghai’s Lujiazui district taken by tourists, residents, and amateur photographers and circulated online. I then rearranged and combined the images according to their dates and the changing states of the buildings they depict.

The photographs present Lujiazui from different positions, seasons, weather conditions, and recording devices. Each photographer occupies an individual viewpoint, leaving traces of a particular visit, visual preference, and personal experience. When brought together, however, these images repeatedly return to the same architecture, the same skyline, and an increasingly shared imagination of the city.

The work focuses particularly on the construction of the Shanghai Tower. Over several years, numerous strangers photographed the same building as it gradually rose above the city. Reassembled chronologically, these fragmented images allow the tower to appear as though it is being constructed once again within the work. Individual photographs collectively form an unofficial urban archive, preserving a continuous record of the city’s physical transformation.

Images circulated online are often separated from their original contexts, rapidly viewed, shared, and forgotten. By restoring temporal connections and narrative order, I bring these private records into a collective structure of observation. “Everyone’s Lujiazui” refers to the memories and viewpoints of separate individuals, while “the same Lujiazui” describes how an urban landmark becomes a shared visual image through repeated photography and circulation.

《每个人的陆家嘴和同一个陆家嘴》是《每个人都是摄影师》的衍生作品。我从互联网中收集由不同游客、居民与普通摄影者拍摄的陆家嘴照片，并以画面中的建筑状态与拍摄时间为线索，重新排列和拼接这些来自不同来源的图像。

这些照片记录着不同天气、季节、机位与设备下的陆家嘴。每位拍摄者都拥有一个属于自己的观看位置，也在照片中留下了各自的到访时间、审美选择与个人经验。然而，当这些图像被放在一起时，它们又不断指向同一组建筑、同一片天际线，以及一种逐渐趋同的城市想象。

作品尤其关注上海中心大厦从建设到完成的过程。大量互不相识的人，在不同时间拍摄了同一座持续生长的建筑。当这些零散照片按照时间重新连接，建筑仿佛在图像中被再次建造。个人拍摄由此共同构成了一份未经组织的城市档案，也保存了城市面貌发生变化的连续痕迹。

网络图像通常脱离原有语境，被快速浏览、转发和遗忘。在这件作品中，我重新赋予它们时间关系与叙事顺序，使无数私人记录汇聚为对同一地点的集体观看。“每个人的陆家嘴”来自不同个体的记忆与视角；“同一个陆家嘴”则呈现城市地标如何在重复拍摄与传播中，逐渐形成一种共享的视觉形象。
