Stone Bollards (Revisited)石墩子（续）

In 2022, I photographed a group of street bollards at a crossroads in Longhua, Shenzhen. Years of friction had covered their surfaces with scratches left by electric bicycles, yet the makers of these marks remained absent from the image.

Four years later, I returned to the same intersection. This time, I turned my camera towards the people passing through it. Pedestrians, delivery riders, electric bicycles, and bundles of goods photographed at different moments are layered into a single image. Bodies that originally belonged to separate moments gradually lose their clear boundaries and merge into a dense, continuously moving crowd. The blank area at the centre marks the position once occupied by the bollards, while a bollard isolated on the right reappears as an independent object.

Rather than recording a single decisive moment, this work returns to a previously photographed site in order to restore the people who had once remained outside the frame. The bollards both organise the movement of bodies and vehicles and preserve the traces left by their repeated passage. Taken four years apart, the two stages of the work form an ongoing observation of the rhythms, spatial compression, and everyday circulation of a mega-city.

2022年，我在深圳龙华的一处十字路口拍摄了一组街头石墩。长期的擦碰使它们的表面布满了电动车留下的划痕，但这些痕迹的制造者始终缺席于画面之外。

四年后，我重新回到同一个路口。这一次，我将镜头转向经过这里的人群。不同时间拍摄的行人、骑手、电动车与货物被叠加在同一张图像中，原本彼此分离的身体逐渐失去清晰边界，汇聚成一团持续流动的人群。画面中央留下的空白，标记着石墩原本所在的位置；右侧被抽离出来的石墩，则作为一个独立对象重新出现。

这件作品并不试图记录某一个决定性的瞬间，而是回到一个曾经拍摄过的地点，补上当时未曾出现在画面中的人。石墩既组织着人流与车流的通过，也保存着长期摩擦留下的痕迹。两次相隔四年的拍摄，共同构成了我对于这座超级城市日常节奏、空间挤压与流动经验的持续观察。
