People Transporting Goods to a Livestreaming Town往直播小镇运输货物的人们

This work was photographed in a Chinese town where livestream e-commerce has become highly concentrated. Each day, large quantities of goods are transported from surrounding areas to local distribution centres, before entering livestream studios, warehouses, and courier networks. People pull, push, and carry enormous packages through the streets, moving in groups towards the same destination.

The packages frequently obscure the workers’ bodies and faces, making them appear almost propelled by the goods they carry. Only arms, footsteps, and bent postures remain visible, revealing the physical weight and distance that commodities must pass through before appearing on a screen or becoming an online order.

Livestream commerce is presented on mobile devices as immediate, frictionless, and fast. Its operation, however, depends on dense systems of storage, handling, and logistical labour. The work focuses on one of the less visible stages of this circulation: between platforms, livestream hosts, and consumers, groups of workers physically absorb the volume, weight, and time pressure of the goods.

I stitched these passing figures into an elongated image, turning their movement into a continuously extending procession. As the oversized packages repeat across the frame, they gradually dominate the image, revealing how digital consumption is translated into physical weight, labour, and circulation.

这组作品拍摄于中国一处直播电商高度集中的小镇。每天，大量货物从周边地区被运往发货基地，准备进入直播间、仓库和快递系统。人们拖着、推着或背着体积巨大的包裹穿过街道，成群地向同一个方向移动。

这些包裹往往遮挡了运输者的身体和面孔，使他们看起来像是被货物推动着前进。画面中可以看到人的手臂、脚步和弯曲的身体，也可以看到商品在进入屏幕和订单之前，所经历的真实重量与距离。

直播电商通常以即时、轻盈和高速的方式出现在手机屏幕上，背后却依赖密集的仓储、搬运和物流劳动。作品将镜头对准商品流通中较少被看见的一段：在主播、消费者和平台之间，一群人以身体承担着货物的体积、重量与时间压力。

我将这些连续经过的人群拼接成长图，使他们的移动形成一条不断延伸的运输队伍。巨大的包裹重复出现，逐渐成为画面的主体，也呈现出数字消费如何在现实空间中转化为重量、劳动与流动。
