Night Walkers夜行者

Night Walkers was photographed on the streets of Hong Kong, focusing on people walking towards Victoria Harbour. As they approach the waterfront, the city lights intensify and the figures are transformed into dark silhouettes against the glow. Some walk side by side in conversation, some look down at their phones, some pause briefly, while others continue forward without stopping. The stretch of movement before arriving at the harbour becomes a transitional state in itself.

I brought together figures photographed at different moments into a single body of work. Night and backlighting reduce visible markers of identity, leaving behind gestures, rhythms of movement, and fleeting spatial relationships between bodies. Victoria Harbour, though one of the city’s most iconic views, does not become the central subject of the image. Instead, the people on their way towards it occupy the foreground of attention.

The work reflects on anonymity in the urban night and on the way a landmark shapes movement and perception. Walking towards Victoria Harbour is both a literal route and a kind of prelude to entering the image of the city. Through black silhouette, individual experience is temporarily stripped back, revealing a public moment suspended between everyday life, tourism, and passing presence.

《夜行者》拍摄于香港街头，镜头对准那些步行前往维多利亚港的人。临近海港时，城市灯光逐渐增强，人物在逆光中转化为黑色剪影：有人并肩交谈，有人低头看手机，有人停下脚步，也有人只是继续向前行走。抵达景观之前的这段路程，构成了一种短暂的过渡状态。

我将这些在不同时刻出现的人物整理进同一组图像之中。清晰的身份特征被夜色和背光削弱，留下的是身体的姿态、行走的节奏，以及人与人之间短暂的距离关系。维多利亚港作为一个著名城市景观并未直接成为画面的中心，反而是那些即将抵达它的人，构成了作品真正的主体。

作品关注人在城市夜晚中的匿名状态，也关注景观如何影响人的移动与观看。走向维港的过程，既是一段实际的步行路线，也像是一种进入城市想象的前奏。黑色剪影使个体经验被暂时抽离出来，呈现出一种介于日常、观光与短暂停留之间的公共时刻。
